5.30.19 Conference Summary

Conference this week started with our annual EMS medical command orientation with Dr. Luk and Dr. Zeller. We started with reviewing our medical command protocols, including time of death, followed by listening to recordings of real medical command recordings. We then had 30 minutes of practice EMS med commands calls. This was followed by the last lecture in our airway series this year about the physiologically difficult airway by Dr. Stull.

12.20.18 Conference Summary

This week’s conference summary started off with Morbidity and Mortality cases prepared by chief Andrew Schaub. We then had a primer on Pediatric Respiratory Distress from PEM attending Leslie Dingeldein followed by Mass Casualty, both tips and first hand experience from Trauma Surgeon Andrew Loudon who was a chief resident during the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando. Lastly we had December’s Journal Club which focused on practice changing airway literature.

11.1.18 Conference Summary

This week we welcomed CLE Rising speaker, Dr. Enyo Ablordeppey, EM/Intensivist and ultrasound extraordinaire from WashU, who gave walked us through her “Top 10 Ways I Use US Everyday” followed by a talk on point-of-care ultrasound and the role of implementation research. This was followed by another ED Pharm 101 session with ED pharmacist Christy McKenzie, PharmD, who went over pharmacologic management of atrial fibrillation. Dr. Matt Stull then led Airway Grand Rounds with a discussion on the 7 Ps of RSI.
