If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: Teaching probably. I love working with kids, but I could also see myself as a college organic chem professor.

Favorite music: A healthy mix of emo, pop-punk, alternative, and rock. My music taste peaked somewhere around 2012 and I've been trying to recover ever since 

Five-year plan: Hopefully I'll be an attending who still loves emergency medicine, has figured out how to have a life outside of the hospital, and has somehow accumulated even more hobbies than I have now 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: This one is hard to say! My twin sister is an architect, and I've always wondered if I would have ended up going in that direction. I've always liked engineering and figuring out how things work. I've especially loved seeing all the different bridges around Cleveland, apparently that's become one of my random special interests since moving here, so maybe some sort of structural engineer that helps to build bridges 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: The ability to pause time. I could get everything done during a shift, sleep enough, and still have time for all my hobbies 

Random fact: I have a black cat named Hubble, after the Hubble Space Telescope. He's appropriately spacey and has absolutely no idea what an impressive name he has

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: If EM weren’t an option, I think I’d probably do something involving music or art.   

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: Definitely teleportation

Five-year plan: To finish residency :). But then afterward, I'm pretty open to staying local, going back home, or even potentially pursuing a fellowship. 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: Maybe doing something with an art/design degree. Either that or sitting at home doing nothing.  

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: Invisibility   

Random fact: I've drowned 2 times in my life and had to be rescued

Hobbies and interests: Dungeons and dragons/board games, comics, cooking, theatre, working out. I always say that if I’m with good people, I’ll be happy doing anything. 

Favorite movie or tv show: Shameless (US). Probably my first exposure to a series that really took character writing and development seriously. It’s home to some of the most genuine depictions of emotion across the spectrum that I’ve seen even to this day. It may not be for everyone, but it was a lightbulb moment for me regarding how grounded characters should feel which is a perspective I take with my writing/directing/creative outlets even today. 

Favorite Cleveland restaurant: Cleveland Breakfast Company. Great vibes and great brunch. 

Favorite music: Honestly, it depends on the day. I swing wildly between alt rock, musical theater, indie, and everything in between. Can never go wrong with Twenty One Pilots or Haley Williams, though. 

Five-year plan: I barely have a 5 day plan, friend. What I do know concretely is that I hope to be in a place where I feel mentally, physically, and emotionally well. I aspire to be surrounded by people that I love, mentoring those who come after, and making a difference in peoples’ lives, in whatever corner of EM I find myself carving out. 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: Realistically: working in the Bioethics space and/or directing local theatre. Unrealistically: secret spy. 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: I could not be more pedantic about this question. If it’s a world in which other super powered people exist, I’d want powers like Peter Petrelli from Heroes (if you know you know). If not, I’ve always been a huge fan of telepathy/telekinesis (shout out to Jean Grey from the X-Men). 

Random fact: In general: there are more unique ways to shuffle a standard deck of 52 cards than there are number of atoms on all of planet Earth; about me: part of my iris is attached to the back of my eye (no deficit).

Hobbies and interests: I’m big into reading books lately, diehard Cleveland sports fan (the good but mostly bad) and I love being outdoors running, biking playing in sports leagues. 

Favorite movie or tv show: Favorite comfort show is Greys Anatomy but currently Im rewatching Hose of The Dragon 10/10 show.

Five-year plan: I hope to be living and working somewhere in CLE with my wife and hopefully a couple kids! Plus or minus one of a dozen fellowships I've considered. 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: Living on a farm on a lake with 100 huskies while running a dog rescue or more practically I would've gotten my Fire certificate and kept working EMS.

Random fact: Fun fact about myself is my eyes change color from blue to green to greyish. Not about myself but super cool is that Komodo dragons can clone themselves.

Hobbies and interests: I love trying new coffee shops and restaurants. I've also being enjoying going to Pilates classes and playing pickleball. But my favorite thing to do on my day off is binge watch shows.

Five-year plan: Hopefully, by then I will have graduated from residency and begun practicing at a community hospital. At the same time, I am keeping an open mind about the possibility of pursuing a fellowship and exploring where my interests may ultimately lead me. 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: I’ve always had a strong interest in and appreciation for interior design, so maybe something in that field. 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: Teleportation

Five-year plan: Getting married and eventually building a family with my fiancée. Becoming a great physician and hoping to teach a bit. 

If you weren't doing emergency medicine, what would you be doing?: Opening an ice cream shop, which is still my retirement plan. 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?: Teleportation! No worrying about the commute/parking and I can take a trip anywhere anytime.
